We Preach Christ Crucified In The Salt Lake Valley
Hope Lutheran Church is a Confessional Lutheran congregation in West Jordan, Utah proclaiming the gospel to the Salt Lake Valley since 1987. Our worship and sermons, drawn from God’s Word, focus on our Savior, Jesus the Christ, and the salvation He freely gives us.
We are a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), a church body committed to the Holy Scriptures as the inspired and inerrant Word of God and to the Lutheran Confessions contained in the Book of Concord as a faithful exposition of that Word. The ELS traces its roots to the historic Norwegian Synod, founded in 1853 by Norwegian immigrants who sought to preserve the pure teaching of Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. While our heritage is rooted in these faithful beginnings, our mission today is to proclaim Christ crucified for all people, welcoming everyone to hear God's saving Word and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Pastor
Pastor Adam Brasich grew up in southern Wisconsin, not far from Madison. He moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana, to attend Wabash College, a small liberal arts college for men, where he majored in religion, with a particular emphasis on contemporary theology and New Testament studies.
After graduating, he attended Florida State University, where he earned both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in American religious history. While living in Tallahassee, he volunteered extensively at his church and came to recognize a call to the pastoral ministry. After completing his doctoral studies, he decided to return to school once again. Trading the white sand beaches of North Florida for the snow-covered prairies of southern Minnesota, he enrolled at Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, which is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
Pastor Brasich served Resurrection Lutheran Church and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Central Florida from 2020 to 2023, first as a vicar and then as their pastor. In 2023, he accepted the divine call to serve Hope Lutheran Church and was installed as pastor in October of that year.
Pastor Brasich is grateful to call Utah home. When he is not in the office, there is a good chance you will find him hiking on Antelope Island, exploring obscure Fremont Culture rock art, lamenting another Jazz loss, or conducting research at the Church History Library in downtown Salt Lake City.
Please feel free to stop by the church to visit with Pastor Brasich. If he is unavailable, simply call and leave a message, and he will return your call as soon as he is able.
